Inca Trail 1 Day Hike To Machu Picchu

This short route is designed for those walking people who do not have much time but want to enter the great city of Machupicchu through the portal of the sun and appreciate it in all its fullness, on this road you will see the impressive Inca ruins, great mountains, waterfalls and an exuberant vegetation, but the most interesting thing about this circuit is that you can do it all in one day.

*** Hikers must be in good physical condition to be able to do this trek and reach the Citadel of Machu Picchu on time, the total hours of the trek will be 6 – 7 hours, including the guided tour inside the Inca city from Machu Picchu.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Ollantaytambo - KM104 - Wiñay Wayna - Puerta del Sol - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes – Cusco

Your guide will come to your hotel to pick you up at 4am. We headed towards Ollantaytambo. When you arrive at the train station, your guide will give you lunch for the tour inside the Inca trail. Your train leaves Ollantaytambo at 6:10 and you will have an hour on the train to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the sacred valley.Your guide will tell you where your trek begins and you will get off at the stop at km 104 (2,000 m / 6,560 feet above sea level) the walk ascends little by little where you will have a wide view of the Urubamba River until you reach the citadel of Wiñayhuayna (2,600 m / 8,500 feet above sea level).

We will have lunch near the Wiñay Wayna camp, which is the last camp for those who do the classic four-day Inca Trail, after lunch, you will have a slightly flat walk to the Portal del Sol, we will have a break to appreciate this fantastic place and then descend for 45 min to the same city of Machupicchu.

Your guide will give you a complete explanation of this magnificent place, visiting the most important precincts and temples of the city of Machupicchu. After the guided tour and finish the tour with your guide, please take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes and take the train.

The train will take you to Ollantaytambo where our driver will meet you at the exit of the train station to take you back to the city of Cusco, exactly at the door of your hotel.
