The Coffee Trail is an alternative that takes you to the Inca city of Machu Picchu while connecting with the local people of Valle de la Convención, remote coffee growing families on the way to Machu Picchu, you will walk a beautiful Inca trail within the area tropical and many coffee plantations, with impressive views of the valley and the Urubamba river to reach the family home that will welcome you and show you how to produce their organic and unique coffee.

DAY 1CUSCO – WILLCAWACAY HIGH PASS – WAKAYUPANA (Alejandro’s House)

We pick you up from your hotel at around 6:00 am and travel by car for approximately 2 hours to willacawacay high pass (to be chosen) place to start biking for about 4 to 5 hours downhill ,the road is paved and easy to handle bike, just relax and enjoy the scenery of this beautiful valley, La Convention, where it produces one of the best coffees in the world and there is also a variety of tropical fruits. On the way we stop in Huamanmarka is very nice Inca site, it was a religious place where the Incas worshiped to Willkawakay mountain(lunch here). After visit this beautiful place we continue to wakayupana and participate in agricultural activities (depending on the season) and share daily life with our host family in Huakayupana where we will have dinner in Alejandro’s house.

DAY 2HUAKAYUPANA (Alexandro’s house) – HOT SPRING – SANTA TERESA

Today is the fantastic day !!!!!!
After tasting one of the best coffees in the world we continue our adventure to delve into contact with nature and history.
The day starts with a short walk down about 1 hour visiting some families and trying to taste exotic fruits from this area , wonderful place with a panoramic view of the valley and the Urubamba River tributary of the Amazon River, your guide will transport you to ancient times, this valley was the last place where the Incas took refuge. The trail continues Quellomayo a very good place to eat and then walk along the river to the hot springs to enjoy this beautiful place, finally we took a car to Santa Teresa to our hostel

  •  Walking time: 6½ to 7 hours approximately.
  •  Climate: Hot during the day and warm at night.
  •  Accommodation: Hostel: Santa Teresa.
  •  Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
  •  Maximum altitude: 1,900 masl / 6,233 feet.
  •  Minimum altitude: 1430 masl / 4691 feet.

DAY 3SANTA TERESA -LUCMABAMBA – MACHUPICCHU NATIONAL PARK – AGUAS CALIENTES

After breakfast in santa Teresa we take the transport to lucmabamba and we will walking up for about 3 hours to this fantatic inka place “llakatapata” to see and enjoy the most fantastic , amazing view of machupicchu and all the valley one day before to visit. walk down 2 hours to our lunch spot then we will walk along the path and we will have the opportunity to see a series of waterfalls and admire the majesty of the mountains surrounding Machupicchu and Haynapicchu. Here you will also have the opportunity to see an astronomical sundial used by the Incas, as well as other constructions such of the Incas site of Machupicchu. After 3 hours of walking, we will arrive in “Aguas Calientes” alongside the train tracks that lead to the small town.
• Optional to take train from lunch place to aguas calientes town ( 45min – 30dollars)

DAY 4MACHUPICCHU – RETURN TO CUSCO

After having an early breakfast at your hostel, you will meet your guide and take the 25 minutes bus ride up to Machu Picchu. You will have a 3 hours tour with your guide where you will see and learn about the most important sites including the Temple of the Sun, the main plaza “Intiwatana” and the Temple of the Condor. After your tour, you will have some free time to explore the ruins on your own and take more pictures of this amazing place. When you are ready you can take the bus back down to “Aguas Calientes”, and in the afternoon you will take the train back to Cusco where we will pick you up from the train station and drop you off at your hotel

  • Optional: Transfer to Machu Picchu: 25 minutes from Aguas Calientes.
  • Guided visit to Machu Picchu: 2½ hours.
