Tambopata National Reserve in Peru’s Amazon Jungle will take you to a whole other world where you will be completely immersed in the fauna, gorgeous jungle topography with vast plains with enormous meanders, and pristine biodiversities.
The macaw clay lick (Collpa de Guacamayos) within Tambopata national reserve is one of the country’s largest natural clay licks and one of Peru’s biological highlights, with a dozen distinct types of forest and some beautiful oxbow lakes. Hundreds of thousands of brightly colorful macaws and parrots flock to the cliffs every day to feast on mineral salts. The jaguar, big otter, ocelot, harpy eagle, and gigantic armadillo are among the 13 endangered species found here. Join us for a 5-day Tambopata tour trip.
We are a fully locally owned tour operator based in Cusco. Our guides are locals from the region. They have an excellent knowledge about the inca ruins, flora and fauna of Puerto Maldonado.
We offer the experience, both as a small group tour and as a private tour. We invite you to take a moment to check out our reviews on Tripadvisor.

After that, we walk through the lodge’s trails, where our guide will explain the flora and fauna that inhabit this area.
After lunch, we board our boat for a 20-minute ride to the monkey island, where we will have the opportunity to see five different species of monkeys. We will then return to the lodge, where we will spend the night in our comfortable lodge.
We will leave very early in the morning at 5:00 a.m. to see the collpa of parrots the cachuela, a 50-minute journey where we will be able to witness a variety of parrot species that meet in the Madre de Dios River’s wall. We will get up very early in the morning and paddle around Lake Sandoval until we reach a site where we can observe a collpa of palm trees where hundreds of macaws gather to eat the dried palms, which provide a high concentration of mineral salts important for digestion. Then we’ll return to our family lodge for breakfast, and then we’ll go for a stroll around the Tambopata reserve’s paths, returning for lunch, and then preparing to return to our first night’s lodge .
We will stay in our lodge rooms for the night, then go on a night stroll, return to the lodge for supper, and spend the night in our cozy lodge.
After breakfast, we will paddle our kayaks along the Madre de Dios River to the adventure activities center, where we will walk for 5 minutes and then ascend by a 20-meter tower, followed by suspension bridges, to see the jungle from the tops of the trees, as the animals do. After returning to the lodge for lunch and then we will prepare to go fishing in a half-hour walk until we reach a little river where we may fish for piranhas and other Amazonian fish, then return to the lodge for supper.
