Transfer from the airport or bus station to the office, where they can store any bags that will not accompany them on the tour. Then we’ll transfer to the port (port captain) for a 15-minute boat ride downriver on the Madre de Dios River to our lodge, where we’ll settle into our comfortable rooms, accompanied by our guide, and then we’ll walk through the lodge’s trails, where our guide will explain the flora and fauna that inhabit this area. After lunch, we board our boat for a 20-minute ride to the monkey island, where we will have the opportunity to see five different species of monkeys. We will then prepare to return to the lodge, where we will observe caimans with the help of our flashlights, see red-eyed alligators, and your guide will explain everything about them.
We will leave very early in the morning at 5:00 a.m. for the parrot clay lick the cachuela, a 50-minute ride where you can observe many different species of parrots assemble at the Madre de Dios River’s wall to eat clay in a multicolored show of flight and screams, an unforgettable experience. From our lodge, we will travel 10 minutes by boat to a port on the shores of Lake Sandoval, where we will enter the Tambopata Reserve “Lago Sandoval” in a 1 hour walk. Then, at noon, we’ll have lunch at a restaurant on Lake Sandoval , before returning to the lodge for supper and a night stroll to see what creatures and insects emerge at night.
