Choquequirao Trek 5 Day

Continuing with our specialty in trekking, we offer you one of the most spectacular walks to reach the last Inca city Choquequirao, we will cross the Apurimac canyon which is the habitat of the Andean condor, on the top of the mountains is Choquequirao, a city extraordinary with a set of religious precincts and impressive terraces and the most impressive is a panoramic view of the Apurimac canyon and its immense mountains.

To carry out this spectacular walk, it is recommended that hikers have a good physical condition or that they are used to walking or running.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Capuliyoc - Chikiska - Rosalinas Beach

We start the day very early and pick you up at your hotel in our private transport at 5:00 am, we go to Capuliyoc (2,850m/9,408ft), a wonderful place surrounded by rivers, mountains and the Grand Canyon of Apurímac, it is in this place where our rider and his horses await us, we organize our equipment to then be able to start our adventure and take our first steps towards a great experience, we will descend 2 hours until we reach Chikisca, where we will have our first lunch, after After enjoying this delicious lunch we continue with the walk until we reach Rosalinda beach (1,550 m / 5,085 feet) where we will camp and upon arrival we will have our hot drinks and snacks prepared by our Chef, our tents will also be installed to rest.

Day 2Rosalinas Beach - Maranpata - Choquequirao

Our first sunrise surrounded by mountains, will be with a cup of coffee or coca tea in your tent, then we will have our nutritious breakfast to start our 4-hour hike uphill until we reach Maranpata, a small place with some houses of the local people, after tasting our lunch we continue walking for 2 hours until we reach the Choquequirao camp (3,111 m / 10,120 feet) a nice place to camp under the feet of the great city of Choquequirao.

Day 3Choquequirao

After our breakfast, we will have a day of exploration inside the Inca city of Choquequirao that was recently valued for tourism, its difficult access makes arriving at this place very special, we start the day with a 45-minute walk Until you reach the main square of this ancient city, a spectacular place surrounded by mountains, waterfalls and its construction in the middle of them, Choquequirao is one of the last Inca refuges after the arrival of the Spaniards and that today its popularity As it grows, our tour will be almost all day exploring the city and visiting the most important places within it. After having lunch and visiting, we return to our camp to taste our snacks and rest for the next day.

Day 4Choquequirao - Rosalinda Beach - Chikisca - Cocamasana

Early in the morning after our breakfast we say goodbye to this great city and return along the same path until we reach the Apurímac river (1,450m/4,787ft), we will cross the bridge and then continue with the uphill walk until we reach Chikisca place of our lunch and later continue towards Cocamasana where our camp will be.

Day 5Cocamasana - Cusco

Last day of the trek and we say goodbye to the Apurimac canyon with a delicious breakfast and then continue with the trek uphill for 3 hours until we reach the Capuliyoc viewpoint, where the flight of the largest bird of the Andes, the condor, is regularly seen. Andean, a fantastic place to enjoy our last lunch and say goodbye with our riders and their horses and then return to the city of Cusco.
