Tour Details

The Inca Trail is one of the most recommended routes to reach the stone city of Machupicchu, an original path that connects different archaeological complexes with different functions and forms, it keeps inside a great diversity of flora and fauna due to its different ecological levels. fantastic from start to finish.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco – Km 82 – Wayllabamba – Ayapata - Lluchapampa

The “D” DAY of the adventure has arrived, the pick up from your hotel in Cusco will be at 4:30 am. In the direction of the sacred valley we will stop at the Inca town of Ollantaytambo to enjoy our breakfast (not included) and recharge for our first day of hiking, we arrive at the town of Piskacucho (km82), where the Inca trail begins towards the stone city Machupicchu.

We pass the Piscakucho bridge and we are already inside the Inca trail, which we will follow and enjoy its charm, the first day is relatively easy since the path is gradual and flattering, on the way we will come across incredible stone constructions, such as Patallacta , an incredible stone city in the middle of 2 valleys, we will also have our lunch in the middle of the road near the Salkantay river, later we will arrive at our camp llulluchapampa (3,700m / 12,139ft) and rest. Night temperatures can reach 6ºC.
Arriving at our camp we will enjoy some hot drinks and snacks enjoying the sunset and then rest in our tents.

Day 2Lluchapampa - Pacaymayu - Phuyupatamarka

Wake up will be at 5:00 am. with a cup of coca tea or coffee, to then organize our equipment and later to have our breakfast, this day we will try to carry our backpack as light as possible, since it is the most difficult and also wonderful day towards the two highest points of the trek, called the pass of the dead woman or warmihuañusca (4,200 m / 13,779 feet) and Runkurakay (4,000 m / 13,123 feet), upon reaching the top we will have a well-deserved rest and enjoy this fantastic view, later we will continue descending until we reach to pacaymayo to then climb slightly towards the second pass Runkurakay (4,000 m / 13,123 feet) with a possible sighting of the Andean deer, we will have lunch in the middle of the way and then arrive at our camp, the temperature will be between 4ºC at night.

Day 3Phuyupatamarka – Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu - Cusco

The green day, this walking day is characterized by the great diversity of flora and fauna, the day begins with a cup of hot tea or coffee before getting up to have our delicious breakfast, after enjoying this beautiful place we will descend the famous 3,000 steps inside the cloud forest until we reach intipata, another fantastic Inca construction, with a spectacular view of the valley very close to Machupicchu, this day we will walk towards the door of the sun, the intipunku (the portal of the sun), it is from this place where appreciate the great city of Machupicchu, with its magnificent mountains around it and the sacred temples that this beautiful city keeps inside, we will enjoy the view in the intipinku (the portal of the sun) and later we will descend towards the very city of Machupicchu ( 2,400 m / 7,872 ft) .
Your guide will give you a complete explanation of this city visiting the temples, enclosures and most important points of Machupicchu.

After the guided tour and finish the tour with your guide, the people who booked to visit the Huaynapicchu mountain or the Machupicchu mountain will have time to enjoy these magnificent places on their own, later after completing their tour in its entirety. Please take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included) and depending on the train’s departure time, you may be able to tour the small tourist town of Aguas Calientes.

The train will take you to Ollantaytambo where our driver will meet you at the exit of the train station to take you back to the city of Cusco, exactly at the door of your hotel.
